(VIDEO) HUNDREDS OF NIGERIANS STUCK IN SAUDI ARABIA DEPORTATION CAMP CRY FOR HELP

A video on social media capturing hundreds of Nigerians stranded in Saudi Arabia has gone viral. 


The video showed persons believed to be Nigerians wrapped in black polythene bags all packed together on the floor of what is portrayed to be a deportation camp in Saudi Arabia.


Although no official has confirmed the authenticity of the video, the Chairman of the Nigerians In Diaspora Commission (NIDCOM), Abike Dabiri-Erewa, on Friday responded to a report on the video stating that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs would evacuate 600 Nigerians stranded in Saudi Arabia in two batches of 400 and 200 on January 28 and 29 respectively.

“Nigerian irregular migrants in Saudi Arabia are due to be evacuated on the 28 and 29th of Jan.pending any unforeseen issues. Their evacuation was delayed due to issues relating to Covid 19,” Abike Dabiri said. She also appealed to Nigerians to resist travelling abroad without proper documents.
