COVID-19 CASES IN LAGOS LIKELY TO PEAK IN AUGUST - COMMISSIONER FOR HEALTH
Lagos State Commissioner for Health, Prof. Akin Abayomi has disclosed that COVID-19 cases in the State will likely increase in the month of August.
He said this during an ongoing press briefing at the Bagaulto Kaltho Press Centre in Alausa on Thursday, July 23, noting that this is based on postulations.

He said; “Based on postulations, COVID-19 cases are likely to peak next month; we are hoping it peaks soon and the curve eventually gets flattened.”
In the next couple of days we will formally activate the home based care program for asymptomatic COVID-19 cases. We will manage the asymptomatic cases through EkoTeleMed, a Telemedicine service under the Lagos State Health Scheme, the Commissioner added.
Recall, in June, Abayomi said Lagos may not have enough bed space to admit Coronavirus patients if the current rate of infections keeps rising.
Lagos State, according to the NCDC, on July 22, has recorded 13,806 cases of COVID-19, made 1,993 discharges, and 177 deaths.
