OGUN STATE RECORDS 104 COVID-19 CASES FROM SAGAMU COMPANY

The Ogun State Government has said that 104 out of the 108 COVID-19 cases in the recorded in the State on Tuesday were from a company in sagamu.


Commissioner for Health in the State, Dr Tomi Coker, made this known to newsmen yesterday in Abeokuta.


Recall that on Tuesday night, the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) announced that Ogun State recorded 108 new COVID-19 cases.


She said, “104 cases are from a single site and they are all asymptomatic. 108 new cases, 104 are from a Sagamu company, three from Abeokuta South and one from Yewa South.”


According to sources, the Sagamu company is a subsidiary of an international investment company whose business cuts across Food and Agriculture, Chemicals and Pharmaceuticals, and others.


The State Government also said there was no turning back on its plan to reopen worship centres regardless of the shocking 108 COVID-19 cases recorded in the state within 24 hours. 


The Government said the latest figure is the highest it had recorded, and does not reflect a community spread of the virus.


Recall that on May 20th, 2020, Eons Intelligence reported that Oyo State recorded 63 COVID-19 cases from a company in Ibadan.

As of June 10th, 2020, according to the NCDC, Ogun State has recorded 421 cases of Coronavirus. 


Of the 421 cases, 272 are active and are on admission, 168 discharges have been made and 13 deaths have been recorded.
