CATTLE SLAUGHTERED, HOMES RAZED AS HOODLUMS ATTACK FULANI COMMUNITY IN BENDE FOREST, ABIA

Hoodlums suspected to be linked to the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) militia have attacked the Fulani community in Bende Forest in Abia State, slaughtered their cows and razed their homes.

Videos seen by Eons Intelligence showed cows believed to belong to herdsmen being burnt and their homes set ablaze.

A woman could be heard saying their mission is to pursue Fulanis out of their land. Raining invectives on the herdsmen, the woman accused the Fulanis of raping their women and killing their people.

"We are here to tell these stupid idiots the Fulani that this place is not for them. They must leave our land. We are formidable. We have killed most of them, their cows are dead. These idiots should leave our land. Kill them, machete them. We can not allow you to stay in our land, you will kill our women, you rape them, you think you will go scot-free, we will kill you. Go and tell your brother's wherever they are, you people you are mad, you are stupid."

Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of IPOB has claimed that operatives of the Eastern Security Network whom he launched in December 2020 are responsible for the carnage.

Kanu shared clips of the incident with the caption:

“Video of men at work last night across all the towns and villages of the old Bende Division, especially Isiukwuato,” Kanu captioned the video shared on his Facebook page.

“ESN has commenced the combing of parts of Isiukwuato forests last night and engagement with the enemy is ongoing and will continue until they no longer present a threat to our communities along that axis.

“Our intel so far has revealed that those terrorising Isiukwuato are rogue elements in the Nigerian Army & police who pass on their victims to Fulani killer herdsmen. #ESN shall find and neutralise these murderers and kidnappers in the coming days, be rest assured.”

However, the Chief Emmanuel O.N Onwucheka, the Executive Chairman of Bende Local Government Area has appealed to all aggrieved parties to remain calm as investigations are ongoing to unravel the perpetrators of the crime.

Chief Onwucheka, who visited the scene of the crime, expressed regrets over the killing of cows and destruction of properties.

UNSEEN FORCES STOKING A FIRE OF CIVIL WAR IN NIGERIA

Eons Intelligence security experts have noticed a disturbing trend indicating that unseen forces are stoking a fire that can lead to another civil war in Nigeria if not quickly nipped in the bud.

Security experts have noted that false information are targeted to unsuspecting demographics to incite rage and tribal war.

For example, Image A is being circulated in the north as an image to portray and spread the narrative that southerners are killing peaceful Fulani men going about their lawful business and not bandits perpetuating criminal activities.

Image A: falsely circulated to incite violence

However, a simple Google reverse image shows that the man in the image was not killed in Nigeria at all. He was killed sometime in July 2020 in the Central Africa Republic.

More of such images are being circulated to spur reprisal attacks against southerners in the north and the Government's reactionary approach to communal violence might make the snowball effect spiral out of control.

ADVISORY: Insecurity must be nipped in the bud as fast as possible. Government and all other stakeholders must arrive at a lasting solution to the herdsmen-host communities crisis to calm the heightened tensions across the country and curb it from blowing over and spiralling out of control.

There are heightened tensions and hostilities between herdsmen and their host communities in the Southern states with Ondo and Oyo recently issuing quit notices to solve the rising insecurity in the land.
