Eons Intelligence have gathered that gunmen on Sunday attacked several commuters along the Ehor-Iruekpen road in Uhumwonde LGA, Edo State, kidnapping five naval officers in the process.

The victims, comprising some Naval personnel (students) from Nigerian Naval Engineering School, and other passengers, were attacked around 11.30am while commuting in a commercial bus on the highway.

Sources say the assailants kidnapped eighteen passengers including five naval officers.

The incident prompted the swift deployment of security operatives to the scene who trailed the kidnappers and rescued thirteen victims.

There has been a myriad of road kidnapping incidents in the last few weeks.

Recall that Eons Intelligence earlier reported today gunmen also abducted seven officers of the Nigerian Navy in Edo State. The officers were ambushed and kidnapped along Sapele-Warri road while traveling to Delta from Kaduna State on Tuesday.
