FIVE POLICE OFFICERS FEARED DEAD AS GUNMEN ATTACK POLICE STATION IN ENUGU
Five police officers have been killed in an attack which took place in the early hours of Tuesday.
The police station was reportedly razed by the gunmen.
The gunmen were said to have attacked the division in large numbers and dazed the officers who confronted them.
Mohammed Aliyu, the state commissioner of police, who could not give details of the incident, said he was already on the ground to ascertain the level of destruction and casualties.
“More information will be pushed out to the public as soon as we conclude our preliminary investigation,’’ he said.

This is the latest attack in a series of attacks on police officers and security facilities in the south-east.
On April 21, gunmen shot two police operatives dead during an attack on Adani station in Uzo-Uwani LGA of the state.
The gunmen reportedly attacked the station around 2:30am also set it ablaze.
