GUNMEN WITH BIAFRA FLAGS ATTACK BANK IN ANAMBRA

Unknown Gunmen hoisting Biafra flags on Thursday reportedly attacked a First Bank branch in Abagana, Dunukofia LGA of Anambra State.


It was gathered that the armed men numbering about ten, stormed the bank premises around 4pm, shooting sporadically into the air, dispersing bank customers and commuters.


Sources say they drove a black Honda Pilot Sports Utility Vehicle (SUV) to the bank, and shot sporadically, causing panic and tension in the community.


It was learnt that they set a Nissan Pathfinder SUV with registration number UR 640 KJA ablaze, and destroyed the glass of a Honda car with registration number FST 456 AC, parked in front of the bank.


Confirming the incident, the State’s Police PRO, DSP Toochukwu Ikenga, said no casualty was recorded and normalcy returned to the bank premises and the community after the gunmen left the scene.


He said security operatives are already on the trail of the gunmen with a view of arresting them and bringing them to justice.
