POLICE ARREST 13 LEADERS OF WARRING GROUPS FOR THEIR INVOLVEMENT IN THE MILE 12 CRISIS
The Lagos State Commissioner of Police, CP Hakeem Odumosu, has ordered the arrest of 13 leaders of warring groups in Gengere community, Mile 12, Ketu area of Lagos State for their alleged involvement in the violence that erupted in the Community on Friday April 30.
The Police gave the order during an interrogation and interview session with the leaders by the Commissioner of Police at the Conference Room, State Headquarters, Ikeja, today Tuesday 4th May, 2021.
In a statement by the State's Police PRO, Olumuyiwa Adejobi, the Commander Security Committee in Gengere Community, Alhaji Alidu Mohammed, was alleged to have disrespected and blasphemed Prophet Mohammed (SAW). This triggered the hoodlums to attack him, set ablaze his two (2) cars, vandalised one of his houses and set ablaze a small building belonging to one Alhaji Mamuda.

Adejobi said the CP Odumosu immediately mobilised security operatives to the scene where 45 suspects were arrested. A certain Papa Mohammed, who was stabbed during the crisis passed away while receiving treatment at the hospital on Saturday.
The Commissioner ordered the arrest of the 13 leaders who had been fueling crisis in the area. He directed the Deputy Commissioner of Police, State CID, Panti, DCP Adegoke Fayoade, to immediately take over the case and carry out further Investigations.
He warned all residents of Lagos State that the command will not tolerate any act of lawlessness and criminality in the State.
