POLICE ARREST 2 BANDITS, RECOVER FIREARMS IN KOGI STATE
The operatives of Kogi State Police Command with the synergy of Fulani vigilante members have arrested two bandits terrorising a part of Kogi State.
The information available indicates that the bandits numbering three were on 27th May 2024 at about 11:30hrs sighted moving into Ankumi forest. The residents around the area quickly informed the police whereby both the operatives of Police and the Fulani vigilante members mobilized to the forest at about 14:30hrs. On sighting the security operatives, the gunmen opened fire at them but they were overpowered with the superior firearms of the security operatives. Two of the bandits were fatally wounded with bullet injuries and arrested while the third among them escaped with bullet wounds.
Items recovered from the scene include one AK-47 rifle with two magazines and two rounds of live ammunition. Effort is on going to the trail and apprehend the fleeing suspect.
