POLICE REPEL GUNMEN ATTACK IN ANAMBRA AFTER BOMBING DIVISIONAL HEADQUARTERS
Operatives of the Anambra Police command have repelled an attack by some gunmen who bombed the Ihiala Police Divisional Headquarters in Ihiala Local Government Area of Anambra State, south-east Nigeria.
Information available indicates the gunmen threw improvised explosive devices into the facility, which razed a building inside the station before shooting sporadically at about 0300hrs on Wednesday.
Amid the attack, some police operatives engaged the gunmen in a shoot-out and subsequently confiscated one Ak-47 rifle.
