POLICE RESCUES 14 KIDNAPPED WOMEN, RUSTLED CATTLE FROM BANDITS IN KATSINA
The Katsina Police Force has rescued 14 kidnapped women and several rustled cattle from bandits in Kwantawama village, Dutsinma Local Government Area of Katsina.
This comes barely 48 hours after unknown gunmen killed a driver and kidnapped his passengers in the same State.
Isah Gambo, Katsina State Police Spokesperson, made this announcement in a statement today.
Gambo said the recovered cattle include 30 cows and 60 sheep.

He narrated that the bandits were about 40 in number, and had powerful weapons.
According to him, they stormed the village in motorcycles and whisked away 14 women.
He revealed that security personnel in the State chased after the assailants into the famous and dreadful Rugu forest, and engaged them in a fierce gun battle.
The spokesperson said his team succeeded and neutralised the assailants, rescued the victims, and arrested one of the culprits identified as Amadu Yusuf.
According to his statement, one stolen motorcycle was recovered from the bandits.
