POLICEMEN FEARED DEAD AS GUNMEN ATTACK POLICE PATROL TEAM AT AKAI EFFA IN CROSS RIVER
Eons Intelligence have gathered that gunmen on Thursday attacked a police patrol team stationed at Akai Effa roundabout, Cross River State.
It was learnt that some policemen were shot dead and their ammunition were carted away by the gunmen.
There has been a rise in attacks on Police personnel in recent days. Less than 48 hours ago Hoodlums invaded the Nigerian Police Divisional Headquarters, in Abayi Osisioma Ngwa, Aba in Abia state, killing two policemen.
In a similar incident on Wednesday, gunmen attacked two police stations in Anambra State, killing four officers and razing down a patrol van.
Also, gunmen suspected to be cultists on Monday attacked a police checkpoint in Akwa Ibom, killing one inspector setting a police van ablaze, and leaving several other security operatives injured with bullet wounds.
It is pertinent for Authorities to investigate the root-cause of these incessant attacks on security operatives and ensure all perpetrators of the acts are brought to justice.
