CPC REBEL GROUPS LAUNCH ATTACKS AGAINST TROOPS IN CENTRAL AFRICAN REPUBLIC

A rebel coalition identified as the Coalition of Patriots for Change (CPC) has launched attacks against the Central African Republic state armed forces.

Reports indicate that the attacks were launched at locations identified as PK12, PK9, Sassara, and Lakouanga.

The rebels have been pushed back for now by the combined unit of the Central African Armed Forces and troops of the United Nations Mission in the Central African Republic (MINUSCA).

A video of some CPC rebels linked to former CAR president Francis Bozize retreating to yet to be identified locations after the combined teams of FACA and MINUSCA forces pushed them out have emerged.

The joint forces of FACA and MINUSCA have also arrested men suspected to have links to the CPC rebel groups who attacked government forces. The men were arrested in various locations, including Dekoa, Kaga, and Bandoro.

The CPC was created on December 19 by some armed militias including the 3R and the Popular Front for the Rebirth of Central Africa (FPRC).
