RESTAURANT AND SUYA SPOT SEALED AFTER EMPLOYEES TEST POSITIVE FOR HEPATITIS B IN KANO
The Kano State Consumer Protection Council (KSCPC) has sealed off a restaurant and a suya spot after employees test positive for Hepatitis B.
Alhaji Baffa Dan-Agundi, the Acting-Managing Director of the council disclosed the names of the affected eateries as DownTown Restaurant located at Bompai Road and Alkhairi Suya spot at Maiduguri road. He explained that the action to seal off both facilities is necessary to curtail the spread of the disease.
“One infected person was identified at Downtown restaurant and six others were detected at Alkhairi Suya Spot after tests showed that they were positive with Hepatitis B,” Dan-Agundi said.
The Council boss reiterated the importance of restauranteurs checking the health status of their employees.

Hepatitis B is a communicable liver infection caused by the hepatitis B virus (HBV). The virus is can be passed from person to person through blood, semen, or other body fluids.
It, however, can be prevented using the hepatitis B vaccine.
