SERVICE PISTOL RECOVERED AFTER OFFICERS DISCOVER POLICE ASP’S CORPSE INSIDE A VEHICLE
The service pistol of an Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP), Saheed Bashorun, who was found dead in his vehicle, has been recovered by operatives of the Nigeria Police Force attached to Gowon Police Division.
Intelligence revealed that the corpse of the Policeman was first discovered by other motorists around Moshalashi Roundabout, Ipaja Road, in the Alimosho area of Lagos State on June 28.

According to a source, on that very day the corpse was found, a car was parked in the middle of the road at about 5am. The vehicle was obstructing other road users from using the road due to how it was parked.
Some persons who were on the road alighted from their vehicles and approached the car, with the engine still running, they thought the person must have dozed off, however, they got the shock of their lives when they found out that he was already dead.
The motorists proceeded to call for help, which came in the form of operatives of the Lagos State Ambulance Service. It was gathered that few minutes later, Police officers from the Gowon Police station showed up at the scene.
It was when the Police searched the vehicle of the deceased, they then discovered he was a cop. According to reports, the Police recovered the deceased service pistol which had some ammunition in it, a police identity card and a phone from the vehicle.
The corpse has been deposited in a morgue and is expectant to go through post-mortem examination to unravel the cause of death.
