THE CENTRAL AFRICAN REPUBLIC ARMY RECAPTURES BORDER TOWN FROM REBELS

The Central African Republic (CAR) Government has announced that its army in collaboration with Russian and Rwandan allies has taken over the border town of Beloko which was earlier captured by the rebel coalition, CPC. 


Ange- Maxime Kazagui, CAR's Minister of Communication said the recapture of Beloko will allow the reopening of the National road which leads to Cameroon- a key supply route that had been blocked since December. 


Majority of goods imported into the Central African Republic arrive by road into Cameroon. 


The United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs disclosed that over 1,600 including 500 of humanitarian aid are currently blocked at the border with Cameroon. 

Ngrebada Forming, the Prime Minister of the Central African Republic on Thursday congratulated CAR's military's and allies while promising that the government would ensure the security of goods and persons transporting along the Bangui-Beloko axis.

"Under the authority of the President of the Republic, I congratulate the elements of our armed forces and the allies who, departed from Bouar, have just arrived in Beloko today.

Through this posture we will now securely ensure the traffic of persons and goods on the Bangui-Beloko axis in both (2) directions.
