ZAMFARA: HOTBED FOR ABDUCTION, KILLINGS, AS BANDITS STRIKE AGAIN, KIDNAP 12

Recent activities by Bandits in Zamfara have made the state a hotbed for their activities as they strike again on a kidnapping spree abducting village head, two foreigners and nine others.


This is coming barely a week after they stormed across four villages in Bukkuyum and Anka LGAs of Zamfara, leaving several deaths in its wake.


Sources disclosed to PREMIUM TIMES that bandits stormed the Yar Kuka community on Monday night, went straight to the monarch’s house where the village head, his wife and his brother, Sarki Musa, Hadiza Musa and Bawa Musa respectively were abducted.


Others include two Burkina Faso nationals who were engaged in mining activities in the village and a resident named Dahiru Ummaru.


In a related development, six other people comprising three women and three teenage girls were kidnapped in Kadauri village, Maru Local Government Area of Zamfara State.


According to a trader, Muhammadu Tasiu, the bandits stormed his house in the early hours abducting his two wives and three daughters.

“I was around but in my own part of the house when they came. They didn’t fire a single shot. Apart from my wives and daughters, they also took away all my money. The names of my wives are Zainab and Asmau.


“The other woman is a neighbour.


“The bandits have called twice but did not make any meaningful negotiations with me” Tasiu added.


The spokesperson of the police in Zamfara, Mohammed Shehu, is yet to confirm the incident at the time of reporting.
