SIX KILLED, 11 INJURED IN ANAMBRA ROAD CRASH

Six persons have been confirmed dead and 11 others injured in an accident involving a passenger bus and a truck at Niwelle Junction along Nteje-Onitsha expressway, Anambra State.


The Sector Commander FRSC Anambra State, Kamal Musa, confirmed this in a statement signed on Sunday, November 22.


According to the statement by the Road Safety, the accident was caused due to over-speeding, leading to loss of control and eventually the crash.

The auto crash, which involved a mini white bus belonging to CDO transport Company with registration number BGT 313 XA and a white truck without a registration number, happend around 5.10 pm on Sunday.


FRSC in its statement said: “Eyewitness report reaching us indicates that the crash occurred as a result of over speeding leading to loss of control of the bus and crashing eventually."


A total number of 17 people including 11 male adults and 6 female adults were involved in the Crash.


Those who sustained injuries were rushed to Iyienu Hospital, Ogidi, and bodies of those who died deposited at the Mogue after doctor’s confirmation.
