25 MORE NIGERIANS ARRESTED IN GHANA FOR ENTERING THE COUNTRY THROUGH UNAPPROVED ROUTES
The Ghana Immigration Service (GIS) has arrested 25 more Nigerians for entering the country through unapproved routes.
Recall that on July 9th, 2020, Eons Intelligence reported that the Ghana authorities arrested 24 Nigerians for illegally entering the country.
It is also pertinent to know that on July 1st, 2020, the Federal Government secured the release of 39 Nigerians arrested in Ghana for the same offense.
The immigrants include 24 males and 1 female. They are between the ages of 19 and 26 years.
Meanwhile, the culprits have refused to give any reason for their illegal entry.
Chief Superintendent Shradrach Azangweo, the District Commander of GIS, told the Ghana News Agency that the illegal immigrants had been evacuated to the Aflao Command for further investigations and prosecution.
He added that in line with the COVID-19 protocols, the immigrants were screened to determine their COVID-19 status and were likely to be referred to Port Health at Aflao.
