AGAIN, GUNMEN KILL POLICE OFFICER IN DELTA
Unknown gunmen on Thursday killed a police officer along Airport Road in Warri South Local Government Area of Delta State.
It was gathered that the officer was shot by fleeing armed men who invaded a furniture shop located opposite Edjeba Junction in Warri.
Eyewitness account reveals that the policeman died on the spot while the armed men reportedly fled with his service rifle.

Onome Onovwakpoyeya, Spokesperson for the Delta State Police Command confirmed Thursday’s incident.
She said, “yes, it is confirmed. A police officer was shot dead, but we don’t have the details yet.”
This latest killing comes just four days after some bandits killed two operatives of joint security outfit ‘Operation Delta Safe’ in Asaba, the state capital.
Similarly, on Sunday another mobile policeman on escort duty was killed at a Church in Otor-Ogor community, near Ughelli and with his service rifle carted away by the gunmen.

Also, on 24th January 2021, unknown gunmen on attacked a military checkpoint at Oton Area of Sapele, Delta and killed a soldier and a policeman.
Assessment and Advisory
These incessant attacks are strong indications that there is a loophole in the security network of Delta State. This should be addressed with immediate effect to avoid tension and unseen attacks in the State.
