COURT REMANDS TWO SUSPECTS FOR BEHEADING NINE-YEAR-OLD BOY IN RIVERS

A Magistrate Court sitting in Port-Harcourt, Rivers State, has remanded two defendants for decapitating a nine-year-old boy, Destiny Peter, in Agbandele Community of Emuoha Local Government Area, Rivers State.


The two suspects, Keneth Sylvanus and Chijioke Ogbonna were docked on a three count charge bothering on conspiracy and murder.


At the trial on Friday, Sylvanus told the Court that a third suspect in the case, Chibuzor Amadi, was granted bail by the Police before their own arraignment.


Chief Magistrate I.F. Iyabo, remanded the two defendants in custody. He also directed the Prosecutor to make sure the third suspect, said to be on bail is produced in Court at the next adjourned date, which is December 6th, 2021. 


The three suspects, Sylvanus, Ogbonna and Amadi, were originally paraded on November 19th, 2021 by the Rivers State Police Command for allegedly decapitating a nine-year-old boy in Agbandele, a Community in Emohua, Rivers State.


Rivers State Police Scribe, Nnamdi Omoni, in a statement on November 19, 2021, had said that Operatives recovered the mutilated body of the victim and subsequently arrested the three suspects.
