ARMED BANDITS FROM THE ISWAP FACTION LED BY ABU MUSAB AL BARNAWI AMBUSH SOLDIERS IN MILITARY BASE NEAR MAIDUGURI

A coalition of armed units from the ISWAP faction under the interim leadership of Abu Musab Al Barnawi flanked by several

child jihadist launched a daring ambush on unsuspecting Nigerian troops camp - situated in a military base given by sources as Almajiri camp near maimalari Barack - near Maiduguri- BORNO state.

This is one of the first major successful tactical attacks ( even though no casualties were recorded on the side of the Nigerian army ) since ISWAP elements claimed responsibility for causing the death by suicide of rival JAS leader Abubakar Shekau.

Frontline Nigerian troops were forced to tactically withdraw from the camp exposing several military equipments and ammunitions which were eventually destroyed and carted away by the well fortified ISWAP units.

The verified images were posted by ISWAP as a propaganda. These attacks on hard military positions by ISWAP elements come at a strategic time when ISWAP is facing strong jihadist opposition from remnants of JAS faction under the Bakura Kangar group.

Infighting continues between ISWAP and JAS elements. A change of tactics by the Nigerian army is necessary to prevent ISWAP from recording any form of battlefield success as they face internal leadership challenges.
