AKWA IBOM STATE POLICE COMMAND ASSURES RESIDENTS OF SECURITY AND SAFETY
Following the incessant cases of robbery attacks on Akwa Ibom residents, the State's police command has assured adequate security of lives and properties.
The State's Police PRO, Odiko Macdon, made this known on Thursday, December 10.
The Police PRO said an emergency security council meeting took place on Thursday with the State Governor, Udom Emmanuel, where a decision was taken to reactivate the joint security task force in the State.
He stated that the State Government has donated over 30 new pick-up trucks to the police authorities to assist in fighting the crime in the State.

“The street is very calm and peaceful. The police are doing what they are expected to do, we will see a more robust policing, a more intelligence-led policing, we expect a more peaceful state," the police spokesperson said.
The rise in armed robbery attacks on the highway has prompted an increase in security presence along major roads in Uyo.
According to reports, Shops and offices were hurriedly closed in Uyo before 8pm on Wednesday, and the streets were deserted because of the fear of armed robbers.
Recall, on Thursday, December 10, Eons Intelligence reported commuters on Kilimanjaro Oron Road were attacked by highway robbers on Wednesday, December 9.
Reports have it that robbers now commute in a tricycle with guns and attack commuters in the City.
