COURT REMANDS MAN FOR PUBLIC PEACE BREACHING AND TRAFFICKING

The Magistrates’ Court situated in Badagry, Lagos State on Thursday 2nd March 2023 ordered a 39-year-old man, Johnson Saanu, to be remanded in a correction center for alleged trafficking and violation of public peace.

The information available indicates that the convicted suspect promised an 18-year-old girl identified as Rebecca Mohammed, and minor jobs in Libya, which was glaring to be false.

Therefore, the prosecutor revealed that the suspect has shown himself in a manner that may cause the breaking of public peace if he eventually succeeded in sending the two girls to Libya without the consent of their parents.

"The offense contravened the provisions of sections 276 and 168 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015,”.

Hence, Chief Magistrate Fadahunsi Adefioye ordered that the suspect be remanded in Awhajigoh Correctional Centre, Badagry pending legal advice as he adjourned the case until April 25.
