COVID-19: KATSINA LIFTS BAN ON JUMA'AT SERVICE.


The Katsina state government has lifted the ban on Juma'at services in the state.


The ban was imposed to enable the State Government and it's Residents curtail and control the spread of the Coronavirus Pandemic.


The announcement was made by the Secretary to the State Government, Mustapha Muhammad Inuwa, via a press release on April 7th, 2020, and it states thus:


Following a meeting held today between the Katsina State Government, Religious Leaders, Traditional Rulers, and Security Agents to review the measures taken by the Government to prevent the spread of Coronavirus (COVID-19) in the state, His Excellency, the Governor of Katsina State, RT HON Aminu Bello Msari, CFR, has directed for the following;


1. The suspension of Friday prayers has been lifted with immediate effect but to be conducted under some stipulated health/security guidelines.


2. The Juma'at Imams should however avoid prolonged sermons in order to discharge their followers within short period.


3. People are also strongly advised to maintain social distancing and strictly adhere to all rules and regulations as provided by the health experts in fighting the contagious disease.
