COVID-19: LAGOS RECORDS DECLINE IN CASES, SHUTS THREE ISOLATION CENTRES
As the Nigerian Government intensifies efforts in curbing the spread of COVID-19, Lagos State Government said it has recorded a decline in the number of cases.
Following the development, the State Government said it has shut down some of the COVID-19 isolation centres, including the Eti-Osa facility and another in Lekki.
Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu disclosed this on Saturday, August 1, at Lagos House, Marina, during the 17th update on the management of Coronavirus in the State.
Sanwo-Olu said that the Agidingbi isolation centre will also be closed and the patients would be taken to a larger capacity facility in Anthony area, which will be commissioned soon.

Speaking further, the Governor said that the Infectious Disease Hospital (IDH) in Yaba will revert to its status as a care centre to manage all forms of Infectious diseases.
He added that the tent built at IDH premises by Coalition Against COVID-19 (CACOVID) will still be dedicated to the management of COVID-19 cases.
Amongst decisions taken by the State Government were the reopening of worship centres and schools.
Governor Sanwo-Olu, on Saturday, announced that worship centres across the State can reopen on August 7, Eons Intelligence reports.
He also said that schools will be reopened for students in the graduating classes on Monday, August 3.
Meanwhile, Nigeria recorded a massive decline in the number of confirmed Coronavirus cases on Saturday, August 1.
However, the Federal Capital Territory(FCT) recorded a spike again for the third day as it kept Lagos in second position.
Lagos State recorded 65 cases, bringing the number of confirmed cases in the State to 15,186, 2,148 discharged patients, and 192 deaths.
