COVID-19: NUMBER OF INFECTED HEALTH WORKERS RISES TO 812
The number of health workers who have tested positive to Coronavirus in Nigeria has risen to 812, NCDC boss said.
The Director-General of the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, Dr Chikwe Ihekweazu disclosed this on Tuesday, June 3, during the Presidential Task Force Briefing in Abuja.
Dr Ihekewazu revealed that 29 officials of the NCDC were among the 812 health workers exposed to the virus.

The number of Coronavirus cases in Nigeria exceeded 10,000 on Monday, June 1. As the number of Coronavirus cases continues to increase, the NCDC boss emphasized these are not mere numbers.
“Crossing that 10,000 was a significant event and every night when we work very hard to bring out those numbers, sometimes numbers begin to feel like what they are but you forget that there are people behind those numbers.”
As of today, Nigeria has recorded a total of 10,819 confirmed COVID-19 cases. 3239 cases have recovered, and 314 deaths have been recorded.
