FCT AUTHORITIES SHUTS DOWN JABI LAKE MALL OVER NAIRA MARLEY CONCERT
The FCT Ministerial Task team on COVID-19 has shut down Jabi Lake Mall for violating the government's directive on public gathering.
The Federal Capital Territory Administration revealed this on Sunday via its official Twitter handle.
"The FCT Ministerial Task Team on #COVID19 seals up Jabi Lake Mall indefinitely for violating Presidential Task Force's directives on the ban on public gatherings as part of measures to contain the spread of the dreaded pandemic in the territory," FCTA stated.
Social media videos showed Nigerian musician, Azeez Fashola, popularly known as Naira Marley performing in front of a crowd on Saturday night despite the government's ban on public gathering.

The people were not wearing a mask, and no social distancing was observed.
The event was held in Abuja and was organized by Network Africa and Traffic Bar at Jabi Lake.
AUTHORITIES FACE CRITICISM FOR NOT ARRESTING NAIRA MARLEY
The decision of the FCTA to only shut down JABI LAKE MALL and not prosecute Naira Marley has ignited criticism from the public as this is the second time Naira Marley would be caught on camera publicly flouting the government's COVID-19 directive.
In April, the Lagos State Government dropped charges against Naira Marley for attending a crowded house party hosted in Funke Akindele's house.
The musician wrote a letter of apology to the Lagos State Government and promised to do an audio-visual work to campaign against the spread of the coronavirus.
Over the weekend, the musician popularly cheered as having "no manners" flew a private jet From Lagos to Abuja for a concert, defying the restriction on interstate traveling, and the authorities are yet to address this.
