FG EVACUATES 208 NIGERIANS FROM THE US
The Federal Government has evacuated 208 Nigerians from the United States.
The Consul-General of Nigeria in New York, Mr Benaoyagha Okoyen, tols News Agency of Nigeria (NAN).
The evacuees arrived in Nigeria from New Jersey on Thursday Night, August 20th, 2020.
This is the ninth and final evacuation flight coming from the US since the outbreak of the coronavirus pandemic.
It came barely 24 hours after the eighth flight in which 94 Nigerians were evacuated from Houston, Texas.
Six of all nine flights operated by Ethiopian Airlines originated from the Newark Liberty International Airport, New Jersey, and were coordinated by the Consulate General of Nigeria in New York.
Okoyen expressed happiness over the success of the exercise, acknowledging the contributions of the Nigerian community, the Association of Nigerian Physicians in the US, and the Nigerians in Diaspora Organisation.
