FIRE EXPLOSION IN ANAMBRA STATE; TWO DEAD.
Two persons were on Tuesday burnt to death in a fire explosion at the Odumodu junction, Umunya in Oyi Local Government Area of Anambra State.
The incident, which occurred along the Enugu-Onitsha expressway, involved a tanker loaded with gas and a shuttle bus.
Report indicates, that the tanker driver was on top speed, lost control and rammed into the shuttle from behind, and exploded with both vehicles engulfed in fire.
Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), sector commander Adeoye Irelewuyi, who also confirmed the incident, said five male adults were involved in the crash.Two of them were killed, while three were rescued unhurt.
He commiserated with the families of the deceased, he warned motorists to avoid over speeding and ensure they keep to recommend over speed limit.
“Speed thrills but kills; check your speed and not your watch. Let us keep our roads safe from accidents,” he said.
