FIRST FEMALE HELICOPTER COMBAT PILOT, TOLULOPE AROTILE’S BODY ARRIVES MILITARY CEMETERY, ABUJA

The corpse of Nigeria’s first female helicopter combat pilot, Tolulope Arotile has arrived at the National military cemetery located on the Airport Road, Abuja.


Report says, an ambulance belonging to the Nigerian Air Force with registration number AF 442, brought in the body.


Arotile, who died on July 14 in Kaduna, is being buried in strict compliance with COVID-19 guidelines, Air Force spokesman, Air Commodore Ibikunle Daramola, said.

Present at the last rites are, the Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal, Abubakar Sadique; Kogi State Governor, Yahaya Bello; the House Committee Chairman on Air Force, Bala Ib’n Nalla and the family members of the deceased have also arrived at the cemetery.

According to Ibikunle Daramola, the late Tolulope was hit along the Mando area of Kaduna by Mr Nehemiah Adejoh, who was driving a Kia Sorento SUV, with Registration Number AZ 478 MKA.

However, the family of the late combat pilot, has demanded an investigation on the cause of her death.

Arotile was commissioned into the Nigerian Air Force in September 2017 AAA member of Nigerian Defence Academy Regular Course 64.

 

She hailed from Iffe, in Ijumu Local Government Area of Kogi State.
