FIVE DOCTORS, THREE HEALTH OFFICIALS TEST POSITIVE FOR COVID-19.
Benue State Government has announced that, five medical doctors, two ambulance drivers, and one emergency worker have tested positive for coronavirus in the State.
Benson Abounu, Deputy Governor of the State, disclosed this on Tuesday, June 23, Nigerian Tribune reports.
Benson, who is also the Chairman of the State's Committee on COVID-19, revealed that the State recorded its first death on Monday, June 22.
He said that the deceased had contact with over 100 persons, however, had been traced, adding that some of them who were health workers tested positive.
He said, "So far, three doctors working with the State Government were positive, there are two other doctors who tested positive in other outfits.
Also, two drivers of our ambulance and one emergency worker, and two doctors in other outfits."
According to the NCDC, on Tuesday, June 23, Benue State has recorded 47 cases of COVID-19, discharged 15 patients and recorded 1death.
