GUNMEN SHOOT BAUCHI AUDITOR-GENERAL, ABDUCT HIS SON AND HIS FRIEND
Gunmen suspected to be kidnappers on Saturday shot the Auditor-General of Bauchi State, Abdu Usman Aliyu, and abducted two others.
Eons Intelligence gathered that the incident happened along Kardam village of Tafawa Balewa Local Government area of Bauchi State
The two victims kidnapped include the Auditor-General's 25-year-old son identified as Zulkifiru Mohammed and his 50-year old friend identified as IIiyasu Suleiman. Both persons were said to be travelling with him when they were abducted.
Sources say the assailants trailed the auditor-general’s vehicle while commuting to his village in Tafawa Balewa Local Government area and shot him at close range.
Confirming the incident, the Bauchi State Police PRO, Ahmed Wakil, said commuters rushed Aliyu to Tafawa Balewa University Teaching Hospital.
The police PRO said efforts are ongoing to rescue the victims unhurt and also arrest the assailants.
