NO FEWER THAN 11 SECRET AGENTS HAVE TESTED POSITIVE FOR CORONAVIRUS

No fewer than 11 secret agents have tested positive for COVID-19, the disease caused by Coronavirus, the Department for Homeland security documents reviewed by Yahoo news have revealed. 


According to the DHS document, besides the 11 active cases, 23 members of the Secret Service have recovered from COVID-19, and an additional 60 employees are self-quarantining.


The Secret Service, among other duties, is responsible for the security of the President and Vice President of the United States as well as other like presidential candidates, former presidents and dignitaries.

The Secret Service, however, did not disclose the actual number of its members that have tested positive for the disease.


 When contacted for comment, the Secret Service response to Yahoo was: 

“To protect the privacy of our employee’s health information and for operational security, the Secret Service is not releasing how many of its employees have tested positive for COVID-19, nor how many of its employees were, or currently are, quarantined.”


The US has recorded over 1.3 million active COVID-19 cases and more than 78,000 deaths.
