BREAKING: LAGOS STATE HEALTH WORKERS SET TO STOP OPERATIONS

Lagos State Chapter of the Nigerian Medical Association (NMA), on Wednesday, May 20 ordered its members to stop operations. 


The decision of the association was as a result of the arrest of 50 health workers in Lagos on Tuesday, May 19.



The Police, and other security operatives were instructed by the State Government to enforce the restriction of movement in the State as a measure to contain the spread of Coronavirus. 


It was reported that Health workers and Journalists (essential workers) were arrested by the Police not knowing that they were exempted from lockdown order. 


The development caused the Nigerian Medical Association to tell their members to stay at home to avoid further harassment. 


The Lagos Medical Doctors Association hereby advised its members to a sit-at-home, in their best interest, starting from 6pm today, Wednesday, May 20 until further notice.
