MARINE POLICE ARREST PIRATES WHO ATTACKED A PASSENGER BOAT AT GUNPOINT

Marine police have arrested four pirates who tried to rob a passenger boat within the Bonny River in Rivers State.

Report says the boat was commuting between Okrika and Port Harcourt on September 17 when it got ambushed by four pirates aboard a speedboat with a 35 HP engine.

Sources say the pilot was held at gunpoint while the thieves removed the passenger boat engine. The pirates later released the pilot and ordered him to jump over overboard.

The law eventually caught up with the robbers as the marine police successfully arrested the four of them.
