NAF AIRSTRIKES KILL SCORES OF BANDITS IN KADUNA

The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has killed several armed bandits while attempting to rustle hundreds of livestock in the Kuzo area of Kaduna State.


The operation was carried out on Saturday, November 7, following credible intelligence reports on activities of bandits in the area.


It was gathered that the bandits, who were spotted in an patch along the East-West axis of the forest,were killed through airstrikes of the NAF troops attached to the Air components of Operation Thunder Strike.

This is coming five days after Governors from the northern States, Senate President Ahmad Lawan, the Inspector General of Police, Mohammed Adamu, and some first-class emirs, others held a meeting over the security threats in the region.


Governor of Kaduna State, Nasir El-Rufai, had lamented over the incessant attacks by bandits on both rural and urban communities in the region.


“Many of the northern states are confronting a variety of security challenges. Criminal activities by bandits threaten both rural and urban communities. Bandits have openly tried to crush the rural economy by attacking farmers in their fields, and in their homes," the Governor earlier said.


Series of attacks have been reported in Kaduna which had led to the lost of innocent lives.

Armed bandits on September 5,  killed a Nigerian Air Force (NAF) officer, Muhammad Auwal, while on duty in Birnin Gwari, Kaduna State.


However, the Nigerian Millitary destroyed several armed bandits and their hideout in kuduru and kwaimbana forest, in Kaduna State, Eons Intelligence reports.


The execution was carried out by Air Components of Operation Thunder Strike on September 2nd and 3rd, 2020, succeeding reliable intelligence reports which revealed that the two forests were being used by bandits as their hideouts.

The attack on the Kuduru forest hideout was accomplished after aerial reconnaissance missions observed several numbers of armed bandits around some compounds in a small settlement within the forest.
