Nasarawa Police Debunk Report of Pupils’ Abduction at St. Peter’s Academy

The Nasarawa State Police Command has dismissed reports circulating on social media alleging that kidnappers invaded St. Peter’s Academy in Rukubi, Doma LGA, and abducted two pupils.

According to the Command, the claim is false and does not reflect the true situation.

Police said the rumour surfaced around 10:00 a.m. on November 21, 2025, prompting Commissioner of Police, CP Shetima Jauro Mohammed, to deploy a combined team of police operatives and military personnel to the school.

Initial findings revealed that the pupils had fled after sighting local hunters carrying Dane guns, mistakenly assuming they were kidnappers. Security personnel immediately combed the area and restored normalcy.

The school proprietor also confirmed to operatives that no abduction took place and that the alarm raised was based on a misunderstanding.

The Command added that surveillance in the area has been intensified to prevent any actual security threats.
