TROOPS NEUTRALIZE BANDITS’ LEADERS, 45 OTHERS TERRORIZING COMMUTERS ON KADUNA-ABUJA EXPRESSWAY
Respite seems to have come to commuters using the Kaduna-Abuja expressway as troops neutralize bandits’ leaders, 45 others, destroying their different hideouts.
The travail of travellers on the infamous Kaduna-Abuja expressway, notorious for bandits’ attacks has left the masses besieging the government for increased surveillance on the route.

However, the call for improved strategic intelligence may have yielded positive results as Eons Intelligence gathered that troops recently uncovered a key bandits' enclave located east of Rijana, from where bandits plan their numerous attacks.
The hideout located along Rijana-Kuzo axis, according to confirmatory reports received from the locals and other security personnel within the jurisdiction serves as the base area from where all attacks on the Kaduna-Abuja expressway are planned and executed on unsuspecting travellers.

Following the intelligence report, troops of Operation Thunder Strike increased surveillance on the target area, launched an air interdiction on a group of bandits gathered in the location, leaving several of them scampering for safety.
Ground troops followed immediately on the heels of the fleeing bandits after the initial strike, trailing them to the southeast of Kaduna State NYSC Orientation Camp where several of the bandits were neutralized.
In a similar development, the Air Component of the Nigerian troops has destroyed a key bandits' building around Kofita, allegedly used as a warehouse ostensibly for housing their arms and ammunition.
According to residents, over 45 bandits including their leaders were killed during the combined raid by troops at Rijana axis during the strike.
