NIGER STATE GOVERNOR SANI BELLO PROMISES TO SECURE RELEASE OF ABDUCTED ISLAMIC STUDENTS, URGES JOURNALISTS TO BE RESPONSIBLE IN REPORTING CRIMES

Niger State Governor, Sani Bello, has promised to secure the release of the Islamic students who were abducted last month.


Recall, on May 30, 2021, gunmen abducted dozens of students from an Islamic school in Niger State, North-central, Nigeria.


Governor Bello, who urged journalists to be responsible in reporting crimes, noted that they carelessly give out vital information to the bandits indirectly through their reports.


He stated that political leaders also give out information to bandits, adding that his administration would ensure it secures the release of all abductees.


The Governor said the new Vigilante corps launched is responsible for tackling thuggery and all forms of insecurity in the Minna, the State capital. He added that they are under the supervision of the police and they have received adequate training.
