NIGERIA'S NGOZI OKONJO - IWEALA SET TO BE NAMED WTO DG TODAY

The World Trade Organisation (WTO) is set to name Nigeria's former Finance Minister, Dr Ngozi Okonjo - Iweala, as it's Director-General (DG) on Monday February 15.

Reports indicate that the WTO has called a special general council meeting at which Dr Okonjo-Iweala is expected to be formally announced as the DG.

Recall that on February 5, Eons Intelligence reported that the United States of America endorsed the former Nigeria's Finance Minister following the withdrawal of South Korean's candidate, Yoo Myung-hee, to head the WTO.

“I look forward to finalising the process,” Okonjo-Iweala said on February 6 after securing the endorsement from the President Biden administration.
