BREAKING: NIGERIA'S MINISTER OF FOREIGN AFFAIRS TEST POSITIVE FOR CORONAVIRUS
Nigeria's Minister of Foreign Affairs, Geoffrey Onyeama, has tested positive for COVID-19.
The Minister confirmed the news in a tweet via his official Twitter handle on Sunday, July 19th, 2020.
Onyeama tweeted; “Did my fourth Covid-19 test yesterday at the first sign of a throat irritation and unfortunately this time it came back positive. That is life! Win some lose some. Heading for isolation in a health facility and praying for the best. #StayHomeSaveLives #COVID19 #PTFCOVID19,”
Geoffrey Onyeama is the first Minister under the President Buhari regime to have contracted the virus.
Nigeria's COVID-19 cases is rising with 36,107 confirmed cases.
Of the 36,107 cases, 20,391 are active and are in the isolation facilities, 14,938 discharges have been made and 778 deaths has been recorded.
