NPF Extends Tinted Glass Permit Enforcement Deadline to October 2, 2025
The Inspector General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, Ph.D., NPM, has approved a further extension of the grace period for enforcing the Tinted Glass Permit requirement for vehicles with tinted windows. The new enforcement date is now set for October 2, 2025.
According to the Force, the decision follows a significant increase in applications submitted via the official portal, reflecting growing public compliance with the directive. The extension will allow adequate time for thorough scrutiny of applications to ensure permits are granted only to eligible individuals in line with national security considerations.
The Nigeria Police Force (NPF) also stated that the additional time will enable continued fine-tuning of verification processes—both digital and physical—to maintain the integrity of the permit system and prevent misuse.
The NPF emphasized that the only authorized application platform remains https://possap.gov.ng and urged the public to disregard unofficial channels. Citizens are also encouraged to report cases of extortion, hidden charges, or unauthorized processing to the Police through the dedicated hotline: 08147818871.
The Force expressed appreciation for the cooperation of Nigerians and reaffirmed its commitment to balancing public convenience with robust security measures for the safety of all.
