NYSC Increases Corps Members' Allowance to N77,000 Starting February 2025
The Director-General of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), Brigadier General Yushau Ahmed, has announced a salary increase for corps members, raising their monthly allowance to N77,000 starting February 2025.
Ahmed made this disclosure on Thursday while addressing the 2024 Batch ‘C’ Stream II corps members in Katsina State.
The NYSC DG confirmed that the increment has been included in the 2025 Federal Government budget, and payment will commence once the budget is officially passed.
"This month (January) has already ended, but once the budget is approved, by next month (February), corps members will start receiving N77,000 instead of the current N33,000," he stated.
Ahmed reaffirmed the government’s dedication to corps members’ welfare and safety, urging them to serve diligently in return for this improved support.
"We will not deploy corps members to areas facing security challenges. Wherever they are posted, they can be assured that the location is safe and secure for them to serve," he assured.
The announcement has been met with widespread anticipation, as corps members await the official implementation of the new allowance.
