Operation Hadin Kai Records Major Success, Eliminates 10 Insurgents in Dikwa–Marte Axis
Troops of Operation HADIN KAI (OPHK) have recorded another major success in the ongoing counter-insurgency campaign, eliminating 10 terrorists and recovering a cache of weapons and equipment during a coordinated operation along the Gamboru–Dikwa–Marte axis of Borno State.
The operation, which followed the earlier neutralization of over 50 terrorists at the Katarko axis, was carried out by troops of Sector 1 from the 24 Task Force Brigade in a precision night ambush that foiled an attempted infiltration into Gamboru Ngala from the Flatari axis.
According to military sources, at about 23:50 hours on 25 October 2025, troops positioned at a pre-established ambush site identified and engaged the armed insurgents with heavy and accurate fire, forcing them to retreat in disarray. At daybreak, troops conducted a systematic clearance of the area, confirming that 10 insurgents had been neutralized.
Recovered items from the operation include five AK-47 rifles, one PKT machine gun, three locally made guns, two fabricated pistols, five magazines loaded with 7.62mm rounds, boxes of cartridges, two motorcycles, two bicycles, a radio set, and assorted personal items.
The Military High Command commended the troops for their gallantry and tactical efficiency, noting that the successful ambush demonstrates the effectiveness of ongoing counter-terrorism operations in the North-East. It reaffirmed the Nigerian Army’s commitment to sustaining offensive actions to protect civilians and restore lasting peace in the region.
