POLICE ARREST 25 CRIMINAL SUSPECTS, 2 GANG KILLERS OF DR AUDU BENEDICT, SON AND ASSOCIATE.
Operatives of the Nigeria Police, Benue Command, arrested two suspects for the kidnap and killing of a Medical Doctor, Audu Benedict, his son and one of his associates in Katsina-Ala Local Government Area of Benue State.
DCP Frank Mba, Force Public Relations Officer, disclosed this in a statement on Monday, June 29, 2020.
Mba said, the suspects, Henry Terkula Gwa ‘m’ 25yrs from Donga LGA of Benue State and Terhile Tsavbe, ‘m’ 30yrs from Gawa village, Katsina-ala LGA of Benue State were arrested for killing their victims, while travelling from Taraba State to Abuja on 10th March 2019.

After thorough investigation and manhunt by the operatives, the culprits, Gwa and Tsavbe were arrested on 6th and 11th June 2020 respectively, the Force spokesman revealed.
Speaking further, Mba said the gang had earlier collected N7.5m ransom from the families of the victims to secure their release.
“The suspects forced the late Dr Audu Benedict to issue them a cheque of N500, 000 which they cashed in a commercial bank in Gboko town, Benue State. Subsequently, the suspects killed the three (3) victims and had them buried in a shallow grave at Gawa in Katsina-ala LGA of Benue State” Mba said.
As part of the efforts of the Police to apprehend other suspects associated with the death of the victims, the Force said it will exhume the corpse of the slain victims.
In a similar development, the Police arrested 25 other criminal suspects for their involvements in a series of kidnapping cases, armed robbery and illegal possession of prohibited firearms currently under investigations.

The suspects were members of high-profile criminal gangs terrorizing communities and major highways of the North-Central and North-West States of the country.
Items recovered from the suspects include: 6 AK47 rifles, 3 locally fabricated pump action guns, 1 locally fabricated pistol, 2 Dane guns, 55 rounds of AK47 ammunition, 4 empty magazines, 1 laptop computer, and 1 Toyota Corolla Car with REG No. MKD 13 RC.
The Police spokesman said all the suspects would be charged to court at the conclusion of Investigation.
The Inspector-General of Police, IGP Muhammad Adamu assured Nigerians that Force will not relent in getting rid of all forms of crimes and criminality in the country, adding that the battle against criminal elements in the country is a continuous one.
He also urged all operatives of the Police to intensify their efforts towards decisive victory and reclaiming of the public space from the criminal elements.
