POLICE ARREST SUSPECTED GUNRUNNER IN KOGI
The Kogi State police command has arrested a suspected kidnapper, armed robber, and gunrunner in Kogi State identified as Mohammed Bako.
The suspect was arrested by security operatives in a stop and search operation along the Idah-Anyigba road on Tuesday August 12.
He was arrested in a commercial vehicle with two (2) AK-47 rifles, 41 rounds of ammunition, one (1) locally made Baretta Pistol, 6.7 MM ammunition hidden in a sack.
The suspect, who hails from Koton -Karfe area of Kogi State, had confessed ownership of the arms and ammunition.
In a statement by the State’s Police PRO, Williams Aya, the suspect will be arraigned in court on completion of investigations.
“Members of the public are assured that the Command is determined to work in synergy with other security agencies in the State to ensure adequate security of life and property,” he said.
