POLICE BAN ILLEGAL USE OF SIRENS, TINTED GLASSES, OTHERS IN ZAMFARA

Zamfara State police command has banned the unauthorized use of sirens and revolving lights in the State.


The State Commissioner of Police, Abutu Yaro made the announcement on Monday, January 11, noting that the bans take effect immediately.


He said that the bans also included the use of tinted glasses, unregistered, covered and spy plate numbers


CP Yari directed all Area Commanders, DPO’s and Police Tactical Units to ensure strict compliance with the directive and the full enforcement of other traffic regulations.

He also ordered officers of the force to arrest and prosecute violators of this order and other traffic regulations.


Reiterating the commitment of the force to ensure strict compliance with the directives, the Commissioner warned that violators will be made to face the wrath of the law.


The Police boss hereby urged residents to abide by the law and cooperate with the police and other security agencies to ensure that the State is crime free.

The Inspector General of Police, Mohammed Adamu, had in February 2020 ordered Commissioners of Police to confiscate vehicles illegally using Spy number plates, sirens, revolving lights or covered number plates.


IGP Adamu also ordered Police Commissioners to ensure diligent prosecution of the offenders.
