POLICE INTERCEPT FIREARMS, NARCOTICS IN DELTA STATE, ARREST SUSPECT

In an operation conducted by the Dragon Patrol on 05/02/2024 along the Kwale – Ogwashi-Uku Expressway, a commercial Sienna Bus traveling from Ughelli to Asaba was intercepted. Upon conducting a random search, authorities discovered one locally fabricated pistol and two live cartridges hidden in a polythene bag amongst smoked fish. The suspect, Fedelis Akpos, 23, from Ewhu Community, Ughelli South L.G.A, attempted to conceal the illicit items but was apprehended by vigilant officers. Akpos is currently in custody as investigations continue.


Meanwhile, on 7/2/2024, the Rapid Response Squad (RRS) flagged down a Toyota Hiace bus at Head-Bridge Asaba for a routine check. During the search, officers uncovered three cartons containing one hundred bottles of CSC Codeine, four hundred sachets of 250mg Tramadol, and various other suspected hard drugs. The trio onboard, Lucky Emmanuel, 40, Enunwuune Snu, 46, and Jacob Efedeye, 32, all from Ughelli, were promptly arrested and are under investigation.


Delta State Commissioner of Police, CP Abaniwonda Olufemi psc, commended the officers for their diligent efforts in apprehending these suspects. He reaffirmed the commitment of the command to ensure the safety of all residents and visitors within the state, emphasizing their dedication to upholding the law and maintaining a secure environment.
