POLICE NAB NEIGHBOURS WHO CONSPIRED TO KIDNAP 2 YEAR OLD, RESCUE VICTIM IN KEBBI
The Kebbi State Police command has arrested three suspects for kidnapping a two-year old child identified as Shafa'u Hussaini in Kebbi State
The victim was kidnapped on March 20 after her father identified as Hussaini Muhammad reported that his two-year old daughter was missing.
Muhammad, who hails from Ambursa town, Birnin Kebbi LGA, told security operatives that an unknown person who claimed to be the kidnapper called him and demanded the sum of N500,000 or else his daughter would be killed.
In a statement by the State's police PRO, DSP Nafi'u Abubakar, police operatives immediately swung into action to rescue the victim. Consequently, a certain Abbas Abubakar, 21, who is the neighbor of the victim, was arrested.
During investigation, he confessed to have conspired with a certain Hadiza Ahmed, 30, also a neighbour to the victim, and took the kidnapped child to one Zainab Muhammad, 35, who lives in Gulumbe village, B/Kebbi LGA.
The Police PRO added that the suspects were arrested and the victim has been reunited with her family.
He noted that the Commissioner of Police in Kebbi State, CP Adeleke Adeyinka Bode, admonished residents to be careful and wary of kidnappers.
